  • Period: Showa (1943), Gendaitō
  • Blade Length (Nagasa): 62.5 cm
  • Curvature (Sori): 1.7 cm
  • Mekugi-ana: 1
  • Width at Base (Motohaba): 33.2 mm
  • Thickness at Base (Motokasane): 6.8 mm

  • Thickness at Tip (Sakikasane): 5.8 mm
  • Bare Blade Weight: 777 g
  • Registration: Ehime Prefectural Board of Education, No. 46285

A fully functional gendaitō shinken by Taira (Hira) Sadashige, dated August 1943 (Showa 18). The blade has been recently polished (togimi) and presents a clean, bright surface with excellent activity. At 62.5 cm with a healthy 1.7 cm sori, the proportions are robust yet lively, giving confident handling for iaidō, battō and tameshigiri.

The hamon is an attractive midare pattern—an irregular wave combining rounded gunome elements in places with gentle notare undulation. It runs consistently from the base through the monouchi, showing a bright nioiguchi with fine internal activity under light. The well-defined ridge and ample motohaba 33.2 mm taper to a strong tip (sakihaba 24.6 mm), while a single mekugi-ana secures mounting.

The sword is housed in a sleek high-gloss black lacquer scabbard fitted with a tight, well-made habaki.
